It seems like every year it gets worse. A guy hears that you caught a big fish, and the first words out of his mouth are "Where did you catch him." You politely give an intentionaly vague answer, and the next thing you know, He's in your face, demanding the exact water column. Until you gotta get square with the guy and say, "Dude, I'm not telling you my spots."
A few years ago I went to a fishing club dinner at a hokey place in Dania. The guy who did all the talking was trolling for new members. He explained that it was non competetive fishing club, and therefore members were encouraged to share spots. I got up and walked out.
Doesn't anybody go out and try to and find their own spots anymore? Or is it just too easy to look at the background of a photo or a video, and determine right there and then that they wiill fish there next? I got a bulletin on Myspace from the guys at Fishing Alliance (http://www.myspace.com/fishingalliance). They are having a photo contest so I clicked the link. I read the entry form, and at the bottom they want to know the GPS coordinates of where you caught the fish. No thanks.
In conclusion, Happy Bait Everybody.
